Vancouver-based
photographer Michael Ford brings an interest in photographic arts
that sprouted in his late teens and blossomed over the past twenty
years. Following a diverse career spent in communications, business
and the arts, Michael has established a thriving photography business
with clients across Canada and in the United States.
A self-taught photographer, Michael is a graduate of Simon Fraser
University’s BA program in Communications, where he became
familiar with the role of media communications and the power of
the image. Using the camera as his tool — as a painter uses
a brush or a musician uses the instrument — Michael strives
to illuminate and reveal the resonance or truth of a moment, an
emotion, a place or a gesture.
Whether photographing weddings, headshots, families, babies, couples,
or landscapes, Michael brings an unwavering dedication and commitment
to his work, approaching with reverence each and every client
or subject. While he prefers the simplicity and pureness of black
and white, he also works in colour when the subject or the client
demands it.
Shooting on location and in the studio, Michael works directly
and actively with clients to determine the best location, approach
and package to fit their needs.
Although influenced by many of the masters of photography, Michael
brings a unique voice and his own life experience to his work.
